The Flamingle™ Field Guide
How to wear the signal, spot the signal, and actually talk to someone in real life.
What Is Flamingle?
Somewhere between your 400th swipe and the third “hey” from someone named DadOf3_Kevin, you had a thought: didn't people used to just... meet?
Flamingle™ helps singles get off the apps, get back into the real world, and make meeting people feel fun, approachable, and possible again.
Wear the signal. Spot the signal. Say hi. No algorithm. No profile. No games. Just two people in the real world who both decided to show up.
If you're wearing Flamingle merch, you're saying one thing: I'm single, I'm open, and I'm a normal human being who would like to meet another normal human being.
The Signal
One symbol. One meaning: Off the apps. Open to something real.
Spot the flamingo. Know it's an invitation. Either of you can make the first move.
You've Got 3 Seconds
You have about three seconds. Not to decide if you're going to marry them. Not to run a background check. Just to decide: do I want to say hi?
They opted in. They put the flamingo on this morning. They know what it means.
The One Line
“Your Flamingle's working.”
The signal already did the heavy lifting. The flamingo on their hat said I'm open. You walking over said I'm interested.
If you want options
- “Are you single, or just really into birds?”
- “Nice flamingo. Does that mean what I think it means?”
- “Are you here to Flamingle?”
The Only Rules
- 1The flamingo is an invitation to say hi. Nothing more. No one owes you a number, a date, or a conversation that goes longer than they want it to.
- 2Either of you can make the first move. The signal works both ways.
- 3Read the room. Short answers. Avoiding eye contact. Already backing away. A smile is not a yes.
- 4Rejection is just your answer. It's not failure. It's not personal. It's information.
- 5If they say no, you walk away. Once. Cleanly. No “just one more question.”
- 6Don't trap people. No blocking exits. No hovering. Let the conversation breathe.
- 7The point is connection, not conquest. If you're keeping score, you've already missed the point.
- 8Be genuinely nice. Not as a strategy. As a person. Enjoy the conversation for what it is.
- 9Don't be an asshole. Which is really just rule 8 said differently.
How to Handle a No
First: it's going to happen. To everyone. Every person who has ever successfully connected with anyone collected a pile of nos on the way there.
If you're on the receiving end
“Thanks, I appreciate it.”
Say it, mean it, walk away. No elaborating, no lingering, no trying to change their mind. A clean exit is not defeat — it's honestly the most attractive thing you can do in that moment.
If you're the one saying no
“Thanks but I'm good” is a complete sentence. Be kind — they took a real risk walking over — but be clear.
Where to Flamingle
Everywhere you already go. The bar. The park. Your coffee shop. The gym. The dog park. The farmers market. The grocery store. Flamingle events.
You don't change your routine — you just put the flamingo on.
Welcome to the Flock
You're part of a growing group of people who decided that real life is worth showing up for.
Put the flamingo on. Go live your life. Say hi to someone. Now go find your flock.
